Welcome to my ADHD mind… Please fasten your seatbelt and keep your arms and legs in at all times. Don’t feed the animals, drink the water or talk to the voices. Enjoy the ride.
Personal Power
Your personal power is a direct reflection of your beliefs.
You don’t get what you want, you get what you believe.
The subconscious belief blueprints you are currently operating under determine
what you get. It is the same for every area of your life.
To change your life, you must alter your belief blueprints.
“Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact”. ~ William James
This week’s ADHD Advantage
Energy
When you are doing something you enjoy, your energy levels are through the roof.
When you must do something that you dislike, your energy levels fall through the
floor.
If your energy level is low, ramp it back up with meditation and positive expectations.
Excitement produces energy. Sleep produces energy.
You need maximum energy to achieve maximum success.
Energy, like time, can’t be saved. Use it or lose it.
This week’s ADHD Challenge

Getting Started
This is a very common issue for adults with ADHD.
There are many different reasons why you find it hard to get started.
When you start thinking about starting a task, your brain then throws in all the possible challenges. How do you prioritise competing tasks? What’s more important? What should I start on first?
This leads to feeling overwhelmed, and you decide it’s better to lie down until the feelings pass.
If you haven’t done this type of task before, the fear of failure can stop you dead in your tracks.
Fear says don’t start so you can’t fail.
It takes more energy to start a task, so you decide to wait until you feel fully charged.
Feel free to add your own road blocks…………………………………….
Solutions
- Do some form of light physical activity.
- If possible, do nothing for five minutes, close your eyes and settle your ADHD brain.
- Get everything you need to do the task and remove distractions.
- Set a timer.
- Think of the task as a staircase. Next, break the task into small steps.
- Focus on the next step on the stairs. Then take the next step and repeat.
- Novelty is fuel for your ADHD brain’s dopamine receptors.
- Look for a ‘different’ approach to do the task. Make a game of the process.
- Small rewards as you climb the staircase will stimulate your brain and increase your energy.
Weekly Tip

Neurodivergent Opportunities
The world is changing faster every day.
This opens up unlimited opportunities for your creative ADHD mind to excel.
See the solutions, while others only see the problems.
It is your time to shine, thrive on the possibilities and use your ‘different’ thinking to help solve problems for others that don’t have your awesome skill set.
Society needs the ADHD community to lead them through the challenges that lie ahead.
Create the environment you want to live in.
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new” – Socrates
Take care, enjoy
